The Orioles reached agreement with their second-round pick, Vanderbilt third baseman Jason Esposito. A team official confirmed it a few minutes ago.
Esposito is known more for his glove, but he hit .341 with nine homers and 59 RBIs in 65 games. Esposito posted a .405 on-base percentage and .534 slugging percentage.

Update: Multiple reports place Esposito’s bonus at $600,000.
Negotiations continue with first-rounder Dylan Bundy and sixth-rounder Nick Delmonico.
Also, Orioles manager Buck Showalter told reporters in Oakland that Pittsburgh-based concussion specialist Dr. Michael Collins will examine second baseman Brian Roberts on Wednesday.
Roberts has shown enough improvement that he could be cleared for full baseball activities, which might mean he’ll be allowed to play in games. Stay tuned.
Down on the farm, Triple-A Norfolk pitcher Rick VandenHurk struck out 13 Charlotte batters in six scoreless innings in a 1-0 victory in Game 1 of a doubleheader. He allowed four hits and walked one batter.
Mark Worrell picked up his 16th save.
Single-A Frederick shortstop Manny Machado hit his fourth home run tonight.
