Less than a week ago, general manager Dave Dombrowski shot down the notion that the Tigers would give Fielder a long-term deal. He’s got some explaining to do.

Fielder’s father Cecil played for the Tigers. I wonder if that topic will come up at the news conference.

The Orioles absolutely were not going to give Prince a nine-year, $214 million contract. Neither were the Nationals.

At least we can move on to another obsession. The Fielder rumors are finished. And please, ignore the “reporter” who kept tweeting the past few days that Fielder had agreed to an eight-year deal with the Nationals and was headed to D.C. to take his physical.
