Right-hander Trey Gibson is on the Orioles’ taxi squad, making him the likely choice to start Wednesday night against the Rays at Camden Yards.
Chris Bassitt could be pushed back to Thursday night against the Blue Jays.
Gibson hasn’t pitched since May 20. He’s listed as Triple-A Norfolk’s starter on Wednesday.
Coby Mayo said his back feels much better. He worked out earlier today and said he’s available to play tonight.
Norfolk outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr., on the IL since April 25 with a hand injury, is beginning a rehab assignment tonight with Single-A Delmarva.
Samuel Basallo is catching tonight and Jeremiah Jackson is the designated hitter.
Colton Cowser is in right field, Blaze Alexander is the third baseman and Jackson Holliday is playing second base.
