The Red Sox loaded the bases with no outs on two singles and a walk, but they only scored once to tie the game.
Jeremy Guthrie’s pitch count is up to 46, including 27 strikes.
Boston tied the game on Yamaico Navarro’s chopper to third. Miguel Tejada ranged to his left and made a leaping stab before spinning and firing to first. Aaron Bates walked on a full count to load the bases again, but Jacoby Ellsbury popped to third.

We don’t expect to see him in the third inning, but the bullpen is beyond the right field fence, and you can only peek through the bottom half of one padded panel.
Update: Garrett Atkins doubled down the left field line leading off the bottom of the second, took third on Miguel Abreu’s single and scored on Cesar Izturis’ infield hit. Adam Jones followed with an RBI single to center.
Orioles 3, Red Sox 1.
Ty Wigginton grounded into a 5-3 double play and Nick Markakis struck out. And Guthrie is back on the mound for the top of the third.
