Parker has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 12 of his 16 starts, but he’s surrendered six runs in three other starts.
Left-handers are hitting .215 against Parker in his brief major league career.
The Orioles haven’t won a season series from the A’s since 1998.
Update: The Orioles have made yet another roster move to put a fresh arm in their bullpen, calling up Miguel Socolovich from Triple-A Norfolk and designating left-hander Dana Eveland for assignment for the third time this year.
The right-handed Socolovich has appeared in two games for the Orioles this season, allowing four runs in four innings. He has a 2.01 ERA in 26 games out of the Tides’ bullpen.
Eveland has pitched to a 4.73 ERA in 14 appearances (two starts) with the Orioles this year.
Update II: Wieters said that he is in fact out of the lineup for health reasons.
Wieters felt a little tightness in his right biceps while swinging yesterday and manager Buck Showalter is giving him the day off.
Wieters has been struggling of late as well – he’s in a 1-for-30 slump.
