Hiraldo recalled, Orioles and Rockies lineups

The Orioles returned to having eight relievers in their bullpen today by optioning infielder Jeremiah Jackson and recalling right-hander Yaramil Hiraldo.

Hiraldo made his major league debut on May 27 against the Cardinals and tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in his lone appearance.

Grant Wolfram remains the only left-hander in the ‘pen, but interim manager Tony Mansolino expects Keegan Akin to be reinstated from the injured list on Monday. Akin is pitching again tonight with Triple-A Norfolk.

Ryan O’Hearn is back at first base tonight and Coby Mayo heads to the bench after homering last night.

O’Hearn turns 32 today. He could become the third Oriole to homer on his birthday in the last 10 years after Ramón Urias last summer and Matt Wieters in 2016.

Gunnar Henderson returns to shortstop after pinch-hitting last night. Tyler O’Neill is the designated hitter. Jacob Stallings is catching.

Left-hander Trevor Rogers has a 1.74 ERA and 0.871 WHIP in seven starts. He’s made two career starts against the Rockies and allowed six earned runs and seven total in 10 2/3 innings.

Jackson Holliday’s three hits last night gave him 100 in his career, making him the fourth-youngest Oriole to reach that total after Manny Machado, Brooks Robinson and Eddie Murray.

Colorado right-hander Antonio Senzatela leads the majors with 13 losses and 146 hits allowed, and he’s tied for first in the National League with eight wild pitches. Orioles reliever Seranthony Domínguez is second in the majors with nine.

Senzatela has made 20 appearances (19 starts) and registered a 6.41 ERA and 1.831 WHIP. He’s averaging only 4.8 strikeouts per nine innings.

In his last outing, Senzatela recorded only his second quality start with three runs over seven innings against the Twins.

Senzatela has been in the majors for nine years and appeared in 168 games, and he’s never faced the Orioles.

O’Neill is 6-for-8 with two doubles and a home run against him. Ramón Laureano is 4-for-6.

O’Neill has back-to-back multi-hit games for the first time since July 22-23, 2024.
