Despite winning four of the last five games against Boston and six of the last nine, the Orioles lost the season series, 8-10. They were 5-4 in Baltimore and 3-6 in Boston.

The Orioles are 11-13 against the Red Sox (6-6 in Baltimore and 5-7 at Fenway Park) since Buck Showalter was hired in Aug. 2010.

The Orioles’ 2.83 ERA leads the American League and ranks third in the majors. They’ve allowed just 13 extra-base hits in the last nine games, including one double and two homers in three games at Yankee Stadium.

Matt Wieters’ next homer will be the 50th of his career.

The Orioles lead the majors in road homers with 20 and are tied for second-most against right-handed
pitching with 28, two fewer than the Yankees.

Over the last 19 games, the Orioles’ bullpen is 5-0 with a 1.19 ERA and eight saves over 53 innings.

Wei-Yin Chen has allowed eight runs this season – one in the first, one in the fourth and six in the sixth.
