After that, he could be rejoining the Orioles for their road trip that begins Tuesday.

But his minor league rehab stint may only have two games to go. Reimold will play left field and bat third tonight and he expects to play in at least one game of Sunday’s doubleheader. After that, he could be rejoining the Orioles for their road trip that begins Tuesday.

Reimold hasn’t played in the majors since May 11 due a right hamstring injury, but he says he’s ready to return to the Orioles.

“I feel pretty good. Haven’t had any problems,” he said this afternoon. “I am able to do everything, defense, running the bases, feels pretty good.

“It’s gotten a lot better as I’ve played these games. I’ve gone all out and it’s hot and muggy out and that helps. I’ve sprinted, ran in the outfield. All good. It’s not going to give me any problems.”

Reimold started this rehab assignment going just 2-for-27 over eight games. But he is 5-for-11 with a triple over his last two games.

“The biggest thing was to get healthy and to get comfortable (at the plate),” he said. “I was being more of a swinger, hitting is more of a feel. Sometimes it takes a little bit to find it. But I’m not worried. I know I will hit. Just a matter of being calm and seeing the ball.”

Reimold said he had heard of the O’s plans to activate him off the DL on Tuesday. He says he’s ready to return to the majors.

“Yeah, think so,” Reimold said. “Think I needed a stint down here to not only get healthy, but find myself in the batter’s box again.”
