Aberdeen scored a first-inning run tonight and leads Lowell 1-0 through two innings here at Ripken Stadium.
The IronBirds Austin Knight, who went to high school at Baltimore’s Boys Latin, singled with one out. Kipp Schutz then hit a ground single to right and Knight went to third on a misplay by the right fielder. He scored on a passed ball for a 1-0 edge.
Schutz began tonight leading the New York-Penn League in batting at .403 and now has nine hits over his last 14 at bats.

Aberdeen starter Justin Anderson got out of a bases loaded, one-out jam in the second when he got a strikeout and line out to strand three runners for Lowell.
O’s fourth-round pick, IronBirds center fielder Trent Mummey, struck out with two men on to end the Aberdeen second.
Update: The IronBirds used a walk, two singles and two Lowell errors to score twice in the last of the fourth and now lead the Spinners 3-0 after four frames. Catcher Joe Oliveira singled during the rally and is 2 for 2 in the game.
Anderson is out for the top of the fifth on the mound. We should see Michael Gonzalez in the 6th or 7th.
Light delay at the Stadium: I have been to this park many times and usually everything here runs very smoothly, but tonight we are having a lights problem and both teams are back in their dugouts as of 8:25pm. Not all the lights have come on here and we are in a delay before the top of the fifth with Aberdeen leading 3-0.
Play resumes: After about a ten-minute delay, play has resumed with sufficient lighting in the top of the fith at Aberdeen.
