Coming back from a knee injury, tonight’s starter Jason Hammel has allowed eight earned runs in 10 1/3 over his past two starts. He is 5-1 with a 3.12 ERA on the year.
Hammel has pitched in six career games (three starts) against Kansas City and has a career mark of 0-2 and 6.75 ERA versus the Royals. He is 2-0 with an ERA of 2.25 in three home starts in 2012.
