The Orioles scored six runs Thursday against Toronto. They may not get to that total tonight facing Tampa’s David Price. He is a pitcher on a roll right now.
Price has an ERA of 1.45 over his last four starts and has allowed a batting average of just .173 in those starts. He went 3-2 with an ERA of 2.13 in six August starts.

He is coming off an outing where he set a Tampa single-game record with 14 strikeouts. He pitched seven shutout innings of three-hit ball Sunday at Toronto with the 14 Ks.
Despite all that excellent pitching, Price is 0-3 over his last four home starts coming into tonight.
Twice this year, the Orioles have gotten to Price. He is 0-1 with an ERA of 5.54 in the two starts earlier against the Orioles, where he gave up four runs over seven innings in one start and four over six in another.
In seven career starts against Baltimore, he is 4-1 with a 2.98 ERA.
O’s starter Zach Britton gave up just one run over 12 innings in his last two starts, but gave up a pair of runs in the Tampa first on Evan Longoria’s two-run double.
The Orioles are 5-1 this year at Tropicana Field and 6-6 on the season against Tampa. A loss tonight would be the Orioles’ 82nd and assure a 14th straight losing season.
Hot-hitting Matt Wieters singled his first time up tonight. Here is another interesting Wieters stat: He has hit six homers since August 1 over 25 games. He had a total of six homers in 70 games from May through July.
