After scoring just 25 runs during a nine-game road trip, the O’s have scored 32 times in the first five games of this homestand. They are batting .291 during that time with eight doubles and nine homers.

The Orioles’ 28 hits in the first two games of this series with the Pirates is their most in back-to-back games all year. They had 27 over two games from June 3-5.

The last two nights they put up 15 runs on five homers with a .394 average against Pittsburgh.

The Orioles now have a productive middle of the order again as Chris Davis has gotten hot, Adam Jones has eight hits in his last 19 at-bats and Matt Wieters entered tonight batting .318 over his last 11 games.

Add in that Brian Roberts is back at the top of the lineup and Mark Reynolds batting .289 in 14 games since returning from the DL, and the O’s have some hitters that are putting up some numbers right now.

In the first five games here against the Phillies and Pirates they scored six, six, five, eight and seven runs.

Tonight they had their most productive first inning of the year, getting four off Bedard on a Wieters RBI single, a Reynolds RBI and a Steve Pearce two-run double. All the run-scoring hits came with two outs.

The weather is warming at Camden Yards and, on this homestand, so have the O’s bats.
