With two outs up came Cesar. batting .206 on the year and with just four hits over his last 41 at bats. But he came up with a looping, clutch, two-out, two-run single to center for a 2-0 lead and RBI seven and eight. Corey Patterson struck out vs. Rich Harden to end the threat.
Scott’s single in that inning gives him 14 hits over his last 27 at bats.
O’s lead 2-0 in the second at Texas.
Update: Josh Hamilton’s booming homer to center in the second cuts the O’s lead to 2-1. It’s his 8th of the year and 6th at home.
Update 2: O’s lead 2-1 after four and Jeremy Guthrie is getting big outs. Texas is 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position over four frames tonight. Guthrie got Kinsler and Guerrero out with runners on second and third and one out in the third and pitched around a leadoff double in the fourth.
