Jose Bautista opened the inning by grounding to Izturis. Aaron Hill followed with a grounder that scooted past Izturis, who attempted to make a backhanded stop. Izturis made a leaping grab of Adam Lind’s liner for the second out, but Hill moved up on a wild pitch from Orioles starter Jeremy Guthrie…Shortstop Cesar Izturis had a hand in all three outs in the bottom of the first inning. Guthrie threw 17 pitches, 10 for strikes.

Luke Scott walked with two outs in the top of the first after Miguel Tejada’s RBI single, but Matt Wieters hit a tapper near the mound.

Update: John Buck led off the bottom of the second inning with his first home run of the spring. He crushed the ball to center field. Jeremy Reed reached on an infield hit and Travis Snider followed with a two-run shot to right-center that outdistanced Buck’s blast. Adam Jones barely moved. Toronto 4, Orioles 1.
