One team got excellent starting pitching and the other did not as the White Sox routed the O’s 8-0 Thursday night to win the three-game series, two to one.

Arrieta gave up seven hits and four runs and lasted just four innings tonight. He falls to 4-6, 5.10 and threw 85 pitches.

Meanwhile, Jackson had a dominant outing. He gave up just three hits over eight innings with two walks and ten strikeouts. He is 2-0, 0.96 in four Chicago starts since his trade from Arizona. He is now 5-1 in nine career appearances vs. the Birds.

Five different players drove in runs for Chicago, which has scored 70 runs over its last 12 games. Chicago is a Major League-best 45-25 since July 9th. Alex Rios was 3 for 4 with a two-run homer and 3 RBI.

The Orioles fall to 1-10 in games that decide the winner of a three-game series. They are 0-3 in those games under Buck Showalter and now have an overall record of 13-10 for their new skipper.

The O’s head to Los Angeles for a three-game series vs. the Angels that starts on Friday night.
