Ryan Webb has replaced Orioles starter Ubaldo Jimenez in the top of the seventh inning with the Red Sox leading 4-2.
Jimenez allowed four runs and five hits in six innings, with three walks, six strikeouts, two home runs and a hit batter. He threw 96 pitches, 63 for strikes.
Both home runs came on 0-2 pitches to David Ortiz in the third and Mike Napoli in the fifth.
Jimenez grooved a fastball to Napoli down the middle of the plate. Right in the heart of it. And he knew what was coming.

Napoli swung and Jimenez immmediately threw his arms up in the air. He never turned around to track the flight of the ball.
Jimenez has allowed 27 earned runs in 23 2/3 innings against the Red Sox.
Boston starter John Lackey has retired seven Orioles in a row since Matt Wieters singled in the fourth.

Update: Webb allowed two runs and three hits in the seventh. Ryan Flaherty committed a throwing error.
Brian Matusz stranded two inherited runners. That’s 50 of 55 inherited runners dating back to 2012.
Darren O’Day is warming and likely will pitch the eighth.
Update II: The Orioles didn’t put a runner in scoring position until two outs in the ninth, and they lost to the Red Sox 6-2.
Chris Davis reached on an error and took second on a Koji Uehara wild pitch with two outs. He went to third on J.J. Hardy’s infield hit, but Ryan Flaherty bounced out.
The Red Sox had at least one runner on base in every inning.
O’Day and Josh Stinson each tossed a scoreless inning. The Orioles have used all seven relievers in two games.
