May as well hear from Adam Jones, too.
“We put ourselves in some situations to get a big hit and we didn’t,” he said. “Hey, come out tomorrow, stop feeling sorry for ourselves. We don’t. No one else in the league is, so we’ll just go out and keep playing the game of baseball.”

“We put ourselves in some situations to get a big hit and we didn’t,” he said. “Hey, come out tomorrow, stop feeling sorry for ourselves. We don’t. No one else in the league is, so we’ll just go out and keep playing the game of baseball.”
“We were a little more aggressive today. We had multiple situations. You never know how the game is going to end until the 27th out is made. We keep fighting until that 27th out, and lately we just haven’t been on the positive side of it. But hey, it’s the game of baseball. You can’t win them all. You’ll have losing streaks, and you just have to come out tomorrow ready to swing the bats and bust this losing streak wide open.
“We haven’t been hitting as a collective group. We’ve had some guys with some multi-hit games and it makes it just one or two guys spread out between the lineup. You know, we need to just keep swinging the bats, keep chugging away. The only way to get a hit is swing the bat.
“We’re the ones out here doing it. Obviously, it’s easier said than done. It’s the game of baseball. You’re bound to lose some. We’re not satisfied. Obviously, multiple guys in here are disappointed that this has continued, but it’s not going to make us cry or pout about it. We have to come out and beat the other team.
“I’m still excited about (the offense). You’ve never heard about anybody going in a slump? Not everybody is going to rake the entire season, so it’s a spell. Let’s get all of it out the way now and come back tomorrow ready to swing the bats.”
Jones hit his third home run tonight. He was ready.
“It was cool to finally hit a ball hard,” he said, “but we lost, so it goes for nothing.”
