Laureano in tonight's Orioles lineup, Henderson begins game on bench

Gunnar Henderson is out of the Orioles lineup tonight in Sacramento, with Jorge Mateo starting at shortstop against Athletics left-hander JP Sears.

Ramón Laureano, reinstated today from the 10-day injured list, is batting third as the designated hitter. Colton Cowser returns to the lineup and is in center field. Coby Mayo is playing first base. Ramón Urías starts at third base.

Ryan O’Hearn is in right field.

O’Hearn ranks among American League leaders in on-base percentage (second at .411), average (fourth at .326), OPS (fifth at .930) and slugging percentage (seventh at .519). He's reached safely in 33 of his last 35 games since April 24.

Adley Rutschman is batting .278/.350/.472 (20-for-72) in 20 games since May 11, with seven extra-base hits, eight RBIs and 10 runs scored. In the previous 22 games, he hit .149/.259/.216 (11-for-74) with three extra-base hits.

In 15 games since May 20, Orioles starters have gone 7-1 with a 2.61 ERA (24 earned runs in 82 2/3 innings) – the fifth-lowest ERA in the majors.

Tyler O’Neill is leading off and serving as designated hitter tonight for Triple-A Norfolk in Louisville, followed by third baseman Jordan Westburg. But the start of the game will be delayed by rain.

The Athletics are listing right-hander Luis Severino as Saturday night’s starter. The Orioles are starting Charlie Morton.

The A's hit four home runs yesterday, all by players 23 years old or younger (Tyler Soderstrom two, Max Muncy, Jacob Wilson). It marked the second time in team history that three players 23 years old or younger homered in the same game, after June 12, 1968 with Reggie Jackson, Dave Duncan and Blue Moon Odom.

Wilson leads major league rookies in average (.363), on-base percentage (.402), slugging (.523), OPS (.925), runs (34), hits (86), doubles (14), RBIs (34) and extra base hits (22), and is tied for the lead in home runs (eight).

Forty-five players have appeared in a game for the A’s, tied for third in the majors after the Orioles and Angels with 46.
