Lee has three RBIs this season, the other two coming on his only home run on April 6.

OK, so he was due.

Lee had three hits last night and was batting .303 on this homestand before tonight.

Roberts dived into the bag, which probably made a few Orioles nervous, including manager Buck Showalter.

The Orioles should have scored more than one run, but Vladimir Guerrero struck out and Adam Jones grounded into a double play.

If you play for the Orioles and you have a chance to pounce on Jon Lester, you do it with gusto. He’s 13-0 against them, for crying out loud.

Brad Bergesen gave up a run in the top of the first on doubles by Jacoby Ellsbury and Adrian Gonzalez. He got ahead of both hitters, 1-2, but couldn’t put them away.

Bergesen threw 24 pitches in the inning.

Update: Bergesen threw eight pitches in the second inning, but Boston broke the tie in the third on Gonzalez’s RBI single with two outs.

Mark Reynolds made a great play to retire Dustin Pedroia before Gonzalez batted – charging a slow roller, making the barehanded pickup and throwing him out while belly-flopping on the grass. Lee scooped the ball out of the dirt, the second time he’s done it tonight. The guy has saved countless errors.

Also, Jake Arrieta flew into Chicago today so he can relax before tomorrow night’s start.
