“As a hitter, that’s the type of situation you want to be in late in the game like that. You just try to go up there with a good approach. The pressure is not so much on you, it’s on the pitcher. He’s got to make good pitches. As a hitter, I wasn’t going to hit a ground ball. I was going to hit something in the air. That was my approach. I got a good pitch to hit, I drove the ball and good things happened.”

Luke Scott, on his two home runs off Zack Greinke:
“He had really good stuff today, mixing his changeup and curveball. He had a plus fastball with movement. The first one, I was just trying to battle, just trying to put the ball in play, and he left the ball over the plate and I was able to get the head of the barrel on it. The second one, I was looking for a heater, something over the plate, and I got another one to hit.”

Down on the farm, Triple-A Norfolk’s Michael Aubrey went 2-for-4 with a double and triple to raise his average to .276. I’ll suggest again that we might see him in D.C. this weekend, perhaps taking Alberto Castillo’s spot on the roster.

Brandon Snyder was 0-for-4 with three strikeouts and is batting .195.

Nolan Reimold went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts as the designated hitter.
