SARASOTA, Fla. – Reliever Matt Lindstrom threw 30 pitches from a bullpen mound this morning and is tentatively set to pitch Wednesday against the Pirates in Sarasota.
Lindstrom said he threw everything, first from a windup to get his rhythm and then the stretch.
“I’m not trying to throw 100 percent, obviously, since I haven’t been on a mound since four or five days ago,” he said. “The ball felt good coming out of my hand. “I’m not trying to throw 100 percent, obviously, since I haven’t been on a mound since four or five days ago,” he said. “The ball felt good coming out of my hand. And it’s not like I’ve taken a bunch of days off since throwing. I threw Friday after pitching in a game Friday.
“My arm feels great. I’m not feeling anything in my back. I’m just working on my stuff, all three pitches. I look forward to getting back on the mound and getting myself ready for the season.
“We’ll see how I feel coming in here tomorrow. I’m sure that I’ll feel fine, like I do right now. Just precautionary.”
Short-season Single-A Aberdeen pitching coach Alan Mills stood next to Lindstrom for the entire session. Ronny Paulino served as the catcher.
Meanwhile, Nolan Reimold took batting practice on the field and was launching the ball. He looks fine. And Brian Roberts also hit on the field while most of his teammates headed to the clubhouse.
