The Orioles are back home today, and I’ll be settling into my press box seat around 3 p.m.

The moves haven’t been particularly bold, but president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail is massaging the roster while trying to pump more life into the team.
Continuing efforts to support manager Dave Trembley, MacPhail will add reliever Alfredo Simon to the bullpen for tonight’s game, most likely at Kam Mickolio’s expense because the right-hander has options remaining. MacPhail already called up first baseman Rhyne Hughes, who made the last two starts while Garrett Atkins found a seat on the bench.
It will be interesting to see whether Atkins returns to the lineup tonight. If not, we’ve got a story here.
I could see Hughes sitting tomorrow night against left-hander CC Sabathia, but the Yankees are sending right-hander Phil Hughes to the mound tonight.
Another roster move comes later this week, when the Orioles go back to a five-man rotation with Brad Bergesen’s expected return. Alberto Castillo could be optioned to make room, though Matt Albers remains on shaky ground.
Koji Uehara is supposed to pitch at Double-A Bowie tonight as he draws closer to being activated from the disabled list.
Down on the farm, reliever Dennis Sarfate is scheduled to throw off flat ground today to test his strained oblique. He’s hoping to pitch again by May 10.
