But the good vibes didn’t last long. Josh Willingham’s three-run homer capped Oakland’s four-run last of the fifth off Britton as the A’s regained the lead and beat the Orioles 6-4 to sweep the series.

To make matters worse, Adam Jones left the game before the last of the fourth with a sore right shoulder. Jones went 0-for-2 today but is batting .337 over his last 25 games and is the club’s RBI leader with 29.

Britton gave up a season-high six runs, all earned, over 5 2/3 as he falls to 5-3 and his ERA increased from 2.35 to 2.93. Over his last two starts, Britton has allowed 19 hits and nine earned runs over 11 2/3.

Willingham, a career .392 hitter versus the Orioles, had two hits and four RBIs today. In this series, he went 5-for-11 with a double, two homers and seven RBIs.

Vladimir Guerrero extended his O’s season-high hitting streak to 14 games with a eighth-inning single. He is batting .361 (22-for-61) during the run.

But the Orioles (24-27) got swept for the sixth time on the year, counting two-game series. They were outscored 16-8 in the series. They had just 19 hits in the games and just one extra-base hit in the entire series, a double today by J.J. Hardy.

Now it is on to Seattle where the Orioles were 0-3 last season. Monday at 4:10 p.m. Jake Arrieta pitches (6-2, 4.57) against right-hander Doug Fister (2-5, 3.18).
