With the game tied 1-1 in the last of fifth, Machado’s RBI double gave the O’s a 2-1 lead and he scored the third run on an Adam Jones’ double.

An inning later, he trumped that with a three-run homer to left to break the game open at 6-1. It was his second homer of the season and the ninth of his young career.

Last year Machado hit 11 homers in 109 Double-A games. Now he has nine in 68 big league games.

His four RBIs tied his career best set in his second big league game last Aug. 10 against Kansas City.

After the Dodgers took a 1-0 lead in the first the Orioles tied the game in the bottom of the second on the third longest homer ever hit at Camden Yards by an Oriole.

Chris Davis crushed a Josh Beckett pitch an estimated 448 feet to center field for his seventh homer and first since April 11. He had gone a whole seven games without one.

Davis’ homer, which tied for 11th longest in park history, ranks only behind Jeffrey Hammonds and Mark Reynolds among O’s players. Hammonds has the longest by an Oriole at 460 feet on Sept. 15, 1997 off the Indians’ Eric Plunk, and Reynolds is second at 450 feet on Aug. 7, 2011 off the Blue Jays’ Ricky Romero.

The offense was a welcome sight to Wei-Yin Chen who had not won over his past 10 regular-season starts. He went six innings allowing three hits and one run with four walks and two strikeouts. Chen is now 1-2 with a 3.38 ERA.

Losing pitcher Beckett gave up six runs over 5 2/3 as the Dodgers lost their sixth in a row to fall to 7-10 on the year.

Tonight’s attendance was 45,248 and is the second sellout of the season at Camden Yards. There was a walkup of over 10,000 fans tonight, meaning tickets sold earlier today for this game.

It was a good day and night for the Orioles, who can sweep this series Sunday afternoon at 1:35 p.m. when Jake Arrieta (1-0, 5.40 ERA) faces Chad Billingsley (1-0, 3.00 ERA).
