The Orioles also announced officially today that infielder Jonathan Schoop has been promoted to Single-A Frederick. Through 51 games, Schoop batted .316 for the Shorebirds with a team high eight home runs and 34 RBIs. Also, Mike Rooney was transferred from Frederick to Delmarva.
Right-handed pitcher Parker Bridwell has been transferred to the Short Season Single-A Aberdeen roster. Bridwell, the O’s ninth-round pick last June, will likely return to Delmarva to make his next start or two. He could wind up in Aberdeen’s rotation when the IronBirds’ season starts on June 17. Bridwell made his Shorebirds’ debut last night and gave up five runs over 4 2/3 against Hickory.
