CHICAGO – Orioles third baseman Manny Machado drifted over to his locker around 5 p.m. today, making his first appearance in the visiting clubhouse at U.S. Cellular Field since reporters were allowed inside about 90 minutes earlier.
“What do you want to talk to me for?” Machado asked playfully.
Told that the local media wanted to check how he was feeling, Machado replied, “I feel like (crap). How else would I feel? I’m not playing.

Machado continues to receive treatment on his right knee. Nothing much has changed in the past few days.
“Same as last time,” he said.
Any improvement at all?
“I guess,” he said. “We won’t know until later on. It just needs to heal up on its own. Time will tell.
“Doing what I can. Getting treatment every day, doing my leg exercises. Hopefully, we’ll see some progression soon.”
Machado is on the disabled list with a strained ligament in his knee. He’s eligible to be activated on Aug. 27.
