Center fielder Adam Jones is a five-time All-Star, but he’s excluded in the early results.

Machado moved back to his original position this season. He’s made three All-Star teams at third base.

Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts, an All-Star the past two seasons, has received the most votes in the majors with 748,872 to put him ahead of Astros second baseman and reigning AL Most Valuable Player Jose Altuve (701,236) and Angels outfielder Mike Trout (639,822).

For the fourth consecutive season, All-Star balloting will be conducted exclusively online and via mobile devices at MLB.com, all 30 club web sites, and the MLB At Bat and MLB Ballpark mobile apps.

The Mid-Summer Classic will be played July 17 at Nationals Park.
