The one-year deal is believed to be worth about six million dollars, but is not heavy with incentive clasues.

Most O’s players here were not aware of the possible Tejada signing and were informed by reporters. Brian Roberts and Nick Markakis were both raving about Tejada as a teammate and were very excited about his pending return.

There was another rumor circulating that the O’s may be close to signing another player, possibly a pitcher, but MacPhail said nothing is imminent.
