Manny Machado gets off to a good start with Delmarva

O’s top shortstop prospect Manny Machado has gotten his first full season of minor league baseball off to a good start.
He is 3-for-7 through three games with Single-A Delmarva with a triple and three RBIs. He has already walked five times in the three games and has an OPS of 1.381. He served as the DH in Game Two of their twin bill last night.
Delmarva is 2-1 with a 2.25 team ERA and will send Jacob Pettit to the mound today at home against Greensboro.

Triple-A Norfolk was rained out last night and plays a 1:15 doubleheader this afternoon at Charlotte with Chris George and Mike Ballard the scheduled starting pitchers. The Tides are 0-2 and have scored just three runs with a team batting average of .164
Double-A Bowie won 2-0 at Harrisburg last night to improve to 1-1. Rick Zagone pitches today at 2:05 in the series finale there.
Brandon Waring had a two-run single in Saturday night’s win and Steve Johnson pitched four scoreless. The Baysox are hitting just .185 and Billy Rowell has begun his Double-A career at 0-for-7 with five strikeouts.
Greg Miclat had three hits last night and Pedro Florimon is hitting .429 for a Bowie team that has struck out 28 times in two contests.
The Frederick Keys still have not played a game. The Keys have been rained out twice. They were scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday and hope to get two games in today starting at 3:05 in Salem.
Ryan O’Shea and Oliver Drake are the scheduled starters for Frederick.
