MASN announces 2013 Orioles broadcast schedule

MASN, the television home of the defending American League wild card champion Baltimore Orioles, today announced its Major League Baseball schedule for the 2013 season. Once again, all Orioles games broadcast by MASN will be available in crystal-clear high definition, including the season opener in St. Petersburg, Fla., against the Tampa Bay Rays on April 2. Other highlights of MASN's 2013 Orioles schedule include interleague games against the Washington Nationals (May 27-28, May 29-30), and the Los Angeles Dodgers (April 19-21), San Diego Padres (May 14-15, Aug. 6-7), San Francisco Giants (Aug. 9 and 11), Arizona Diamondbacks (Aug. 12-14) and Colorado Rockies (Aug. 16-18) of the National League West. The Orioles will have 92 games air live on MASN and MASN HD, and an additional 64 games will be broadcast on MASN2 and MASN2 HD. Six Orioles game are currently scheduled to air on national networks in 2012. Gary Thorne and Jim Hunter will again share play-by-play duties in the MASN broadcast booth, where they will be joined by Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Jim Palmer and Orioles Hall of Fame shortstop Mike Bordick as color analysts. Thorne begins his 28th season of Major League Baseball play-by-play coverage, his seventh with the Orioles, and Hunter returns for a 17th season as part of the Orioles broadcast team. Palmer enters his 21st season as a color analyst for the Orioles, his only team in a 19-year major league career. Bordick is in his second season in the MASN booth. MASN will simulcast 20 Orioles games on WJZ-TV (Channel 13). These MASN simulcasts on WJZ-TV will occur on Friday, April 5, for the home opener against the Minnesota Twins, and on select weekend dates.
