MASN, the television home of the Baltimore Orioles, today announced its Major League Baseball schedule for the 2016 season. Once again, all Orioles games broadcast by MASN will be available in crystal-clear high definition, including the season opener at Camden Yards against the Minnesota Twins on Monday, April 4.
Other highlights of MASN's 2016 Orioles schedule include interleague games against the Washington Nationals (Aug. 22-23, Aug. 24-25), and meetings with the San Diego Padres (June 21-22, June 28-29), Los Angeles Dodgers (July 4-6), Colorado Rockies (July 25-27), San Francisco Giants (Aug. 12-14) and Arizona Diamondbacks (Sept. 23-25) of the National League West.
The Orioles will have 94 games air live on MASN and an additional 67 games will be broadcast on MASN2. One Orioles game is currently scheduled to air on a national network in 2016.
Gary Thorne and Jim Hunter will again share play-by-play duties in the MASN broadcast booth, where they will be joined by Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Jim Palmer and Orioles Hall of Fame shortstop Mike Bordick as color analysts. Thorne begins his 31st season of Major League Baseball play-by-play coverage, his 10th with the Orioles, and Hunter returns for his 20th season as part of the Orioles broadcast team. Palmer enters his 24th season as a color analyst for the Orioles, his only team in a 19-year major league career. Bordick is in his fifth season in the MASN booth.
MASN will again simulcast 20 Orioles games on WJZ-TV (Channel 13), its sole over-the-air partner since 2007. These MASN simulcasts on WJZ-TV will occur on Monday, April 4, for the home opener against the Twins, and on select weekend dates.
