Ty Wigginton’s 11th homer of the year, which came on a 414-foot shot to left in the second inning, has the O’s up on Cleveland 1-0 through four and a half innings.
Brian Matusz, touched for six runs in just 3 2/3 Sunday at Minnesota, has not been scored on through five tonight.
Matusz has pitched out of the stretch in each frame and Cleveland has left seven on base through five. Matusz has thrown 79 pitches and stranded two runners each in the third and fourth.

The O’s tonight are looking for what would be a season-best, four-game win streak.
By the way, Wigginton now has six hits over his last ten at bats and is 9 for 22 during a six-game batting streak. Seven of his last 13 hits have gone for extra bases with four doubles and three homers.
This might be the best weather day of the season and a large crowd is on hand at the Yard.
Update: Matusz walked the first two batters in the 7th, which were hitters number eight and nine in the order, but survived that without allowing a run. He and the O’s cling to a 1-0 lead in the last of the seventh.
After a sac bunt put runners at second and third for Cleveland with one out, Matusz got Mark Grudzielanek to fly to right on a 2-2 pitch and Shin-Soo Choo to ground to short on an 0-1 offering. On the fly ball to right, Nick Markakis gunned a perfect throw to home, but the runner was not coming.
Matusz is likely done after 107 pitches. If he is, this will be the first start of his 16-start career where he did not yield a run.
Update 2: Ty Wigginton just hit his second solo homer of the night in the seventh for a 2-0 lead. It’s his third multi-homer game of the year and 12th of his career.
