Orioles left-hander Brian Matusz will join the Orioles at Camden Yards tomorrow, take the day off and throw Friday on flat ground or in the bullpen.
It’s another step in the right direction for Matusz, who has been rehabbing his strained left intercostal muscle at the minor league complex in Sarasota.
The Orioles have three options with Matusz next week. Also, shortstop J.J. Hardy is close to beginning baseball-related activities.
According to manager Buck Showalter, Hardy still feels some discomfort in his left oblique area when he “rotates his trunk.” This is an issue if you’re a major league player or a circus elephant.
