Orioles left-hander Brian Matusz said he agrees that one more start in the minors should benefit him.
Matusz will start Friday night at Triple-A Norfolk. The Orioles will activate him from the disabled list for the June 1 game in Seattle or give him one more start with an affiliate.

Matusz will start Friday night at Triple-A Norfolk. The Orioles will activate him from the disabled list for the June 1 game in Seattle or give him one more start with an affiliate.
“I think it is the right move,” Matusz said after throwing a bullpen session today. “I went out today and threw a side and I felt really good. I felt really good out there. This is the best play. Go to Norfolk, be able to get out there and get myself as high as I can (in pitches) so I’m ready to go for the big league level. I think it will be good for me. I’d like to go out there and throw more than six innings, and get a little more pitches under my belt as far as coming up here and competing at the big league level.”
Matusz will most likely push to be activated after the Norfolk game, rather than continue with his rehab assignment.
“You’d like for it to be the last one,” he said. “I just have to prepare for Friday. I can’t wait for Friday, go out there and get my work in, make sure all my stuff feels good and take the next step on Saturday.
“It’s just building up arm strength, getting out there and getting more innings under my belt, getting more comfortable out there and getting stronger. That’s going to be my goal, to lock it in and treat it as if it was a big league game and go from there.”
