The Orioles are hacking against Twins starter Carl Pavano. He retired the first six batters in about 12 seconds.
Kevin Gregg has entered the game for the Orioles in the top of the third.
Zach Britton is still expected to pitch in one of the split-squad games on Monday, either against the Red Sox in Fort Myers or the Yankees in Sarasota. Chris Tillman will start one of those games.
Britton’s schedule might depend on whether Justin Duchscherer pitches, since they were originally paired up yesterday before Duchscherer was scratched.
Update: Kevin Gregg gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless third inning. He retired the first two batters on fly balls to center. Span singled to center with two outs, but Tsuyoshi Nishioka struck out looking.
Gregg threw 13 pitches, seven for strikes.
J.J. Hardy reached on an infield hit with one out in the third, after Pavano retired the first seven batters.
