Despite some of the recent losses, he’s enjoying his first few days as an Oriole.

“It’s been fun. The guys are great and I’m really enjoying myself,” he said.

Morse made 53 starts for the Mariners this year in right field and he has played more there in his career than in left.

Morse made 53 starts for the Mariners this year in right field and he has played more there in his career than in left.

The O’s offense struggled on the road trip, with a team average of .219 and just 3.8 runs per game. The O’s went 6-for-36 with runners in scoring position during their six losses on the trip.

“I don’t think anyone is pressing,” Morse said. “It is a tough month, playing some of the teams we are playing. Everything gets magnified in September. I think we will turn it around during this homestand.”

Morse spent four seasons with the Washington Nationals, batting .303 with 31 homers and 95 RBIs in 2011 and .291 with 18 homers and 62 RBIs in 2012.

This season with Seattle, he was batting just .226 with 13 homers and 27 RBIs. He was out from June 20 to July 30 with a quad injury. Did that injury impact his offense this season?

“You know, right when I started getting in a groove, I got injured. I felt like after that, I was playing against a league in mid-season while I just pretty much starting out again. It was tough, but I’m happy now and right where I want to be.

“I feel good now, more loosened up and back to my normal self. This is a fresh start. To be on such a great team, I can’t say much more.”
