The Orioles have summoned infielder Ryan Adams from the minor league camp. He'll wear No. 96.
If he gets into the game, he'll have to report as tackle-eligible.
"It was actually a big surprise," said Adams, who batted .288 with 14 doubles, two homers and 25 RBIs in 59 games at Single-A Frederick last season.
"They just pulled me off the field (yesterday) and told me they were sending me here. It was a pretty cool feeling."
Adams is here because Brian Roberts still isn't ready to play and Justin Turner remains day-to-day with a bruised left foot. Cesar Izturis has returned to the lineup after being scratched from Friday night's game with a sore throat.
Adams was supposed to join the Orioles for a split-squad game in Jupiter last spring, but it was rained out.
"We had to get up at 5 in the morning to travel across," he said. "That was a little tease."
