Miley made his season debut on Sunday against the Yankees and allowed only one hit over five scoreless innings. He struck out five batters. All in all, a solid outing that was delayed but not denied – until you check the walks.

Seven of them spread over those five innings to tie his career high. The last pitch thrown was his 100th of the afternoon.

Wade-Miley-throwing-orange-sidebar.jpgMiley heads into tonight’s game against the Blue Jays with a 0.00 ERA and 1.600 WHIP. He’s averaging 1.8 hits allowed per nine innings, 12.6 walks and 9.0 strikeouts.

And we said it wouldn’t get weird.

Miley is making his seventh career start against the Blue Jays. He’s 1-4 with a 5.57 ERA and 1.670 WHIP over 32 1/3 innings.

Miley is 1-2 with a 4.56 ERA and 1.563 WHIP in four starts at Rogers Centre, with 12 runs and 22 hits allowed in 23 1/3 innings. He’s walked 15 and struck out 21.

The current Blue Jays are batting .300 against him. Troy Tulowitzki is 9-for-22 with two doubles and a home run, Kendrys Morales is 6-for-13, Steve Pearce is 5-for-12 with two home runs and Jose Bautista is 3-for-9 with a home run. Russell Martin is 4-for-20 with 10 strikeouts.

Aaron Sanchez’s debut didn’t mirror the one turned in by Miley. He held the Rays to one run and four hits in seven innings.

Sanchez is 5-2 with a 3.88 ERA in 13 career games against the Orioles, including eight starts. He’s posted a 1.569 WHIP over 51 innings.

Chris Davis is 6-for-16 with a double, three home runs and nine walks. Jonathan Schoop is 7-for-18.

Adam Jones has a home run off Sanchez, but he’s 2-for-20. J.J. Hardy is 1-for-11, the only hit a double.

Sanchez has held right-handers to a .198 average over his career. Left-handers are hitting .230.
