The Twins jumped all over Kevin Millwood in the second, beginning with Michael Cuddyer’s leadoff homer and continuing with back-to-back singles by Jason Kubel and Delmon Young, a one-out triple from No. 9 hitter Nick Punto and a scorching liner by Denard Span that would have carried Robert Andino’s glove to the outfield if he had gotten his left hand in front of it.

Orlando Hudson followed Span’s single with a walk. Millwood reached 40 pitches with Joe Mauer at the plate, and we still had only one out in the inning.

Millwood induced a grounder up the middle that Pedro Florimon couldn’t handle. It was scored a hit, but Florimon should have gotten the force at second.

Justin Morneau popped up with the bases loaded and Cuddyer struck out on three pitches.

An opponent sent 10 batters to the plate against Millwood for the second time in two starts. The Tigers did it in the first inning on Saturday.

Millwood has thrown 48 pitches (27 for strikes). Pitching coach Rick Kranitz has made one visit to the mound.

Update: Robert Andino just homered to left with one out. Twins 5, Orioles 1.

Andino also went deep in the intrasquad game.

Update II: The Orioles had someone warming in the bullpen, so we’ll assume that Millwood is finished. His ERA stands at 37.13 through two starts.

Update III: Millwood has come out for the third inning so he can get up one more time. He could get yanked quickly.
