Here are some post-game quotes from Kevin Millwood to round out your evening:
“Physically, I felt really good, felt like I was throwing the ball where I wanted to for the most part,” he said. “Late, I started to get the ball up a little bit. It was decent, but to throw that many pitches and only get 15 outs, I’ve got to do a little better than that.”

Millwood said he was “a little disappointed” to only go five-plus innings.
“I want to try to go deep in the games and try to give the bullpen a rest as much as possible,” he said. “It just didn’t work out tonight. Even in that sixth inning, I made a mistake to (Evan) Longoria, got that ball up, but other than that I felt like I threw some decent pitches and they just hit them. Sometimes you tip your hat, but hopefully next time I’ll be able to do a little bit better.
“I felt great. I felt as good in the sixth inning as I did in the first. Felt like all my stuff was the same. I think I was starting to rush a little bit later in the game.”
As for the end result, Millwood said, “You’re going to lose tough games sometimes. That’s just the way it is. Tonight they got the big hit when they needed it, and that’s just the way it is.”
Bruce Hornsby couldn’t have said it better.
