The Bowie Baysox have been playing pretty well lately. The Baysox, led by manager Gary Kendall, have won 12 of their last 18 games to improve to 36-34 on the season.

Catcher Caleb Joseph takes a 10-game batting streak into play tonight. He is batting .317 (13-for-41) during the streak with two homers and seven RBIs. In 56 games, Joseph is batting .278 with six homers, 29 RBIs and a .796 OPS.

Bowie’s LJ Hoes went 5-for-5 with five singles Tuesday night. Hoes is 10-for-15 over his last four games raising his average at Double-A from .203 to .281. He is batting .345 against left-handed pitching. Robbie Widlansky leads Bowie with 37 RBIs and has six over his past five games.

The Aberdeen IronBirds won on opening night but have lost four in a row since. They take a 1-4 mark into tonight’s game at Brooklyn. Aberdeen has not hit much so far with a team average of .236 and 18 runs scored, but the team’s ERA is 3.22.

The IronBirds’ rotation starts with Parker Bridwell and he is followed by Jake Cowan, David Baker, Matt Drummond and Aaron Wirsch.

Bridwell makes his second start tonight after pitching five scoreless innings in game one last Friday at home versus Hudson Valley. He fanned nine without a walk in that outing.

At Triple-A Norfolk, since he went 0-for-5 on May 20 in Syracuse and his average fell to .170, Matt Angle has been a hot hotter. He is hitting .311 (37-for-119) with 25 runs scored, three doubles, two triples, two homers, 11 RBIs and 11 stolen bases in that time. He has raised his average to .239 in that 25-game period.

Josh Bell now leads the Orioles farm system with 12 home runs and Rhyne Hughes is tied for second with 10 homers.
