Brian Matusz will have a wart removed from his left middle finger on Monday in Philadelphia. We were told yesterday that it was his index finger.
Still no big deal.
Matusz said he will return to Sarasota Monday night and could throw the following day. He joked that it’s only a story because the wart is on his pitching hand. Otherwise, no one would care.
Outfielder Quintin Berry said he’s “almost 100 percent positive” that the MRI taken yesterday on his back will come back clean. Berry will get more treatment today and hopes to work out on Thursday.
Hitting coach Jim Presley is back in camp this morning after having an epidural injection in his neck yesterday to alleviate the pain from two bulging discs.
