The last two Nationals games on MASN (May 10-11) earned the highest television ratings of the team’s six-year history in Washington. The Nationals scored a 2.0 household rating in the Washington, D.C. market, which translates into more than 40,000 homes tuning in to the games. In the key demographic of men aged 25-54, the Nationals game also delivered a 2.0 rating, the highest delivery in that demographic for a Nats game on MASN ever.
Overall, television ratings for the Nationals are up 43 percent over the same period last season. The team is earning a 1.0 household rating, as more than 20,000 households in Washington tune in nightly.
Last week, the Nats had set a record with a 1.8 household rating for the matchup with Atlanta, when Scott Olson threw a no-hitter through seven innings. This had been the highest rating for the team since August 6, 2007, when thousands tuned in to watch Barry Bonds break Hank Aaron’s home run record.
