The Orioles began today with a record of 8-13 on the year against American League East clubs and a record of 18-17 against everyone else.
The East is still a bit of a beast and is the only division in baseball that features four teams right now with .500 or better records. The Orioles are not one of those four as you probably knew.

The East is still a bit of a beast and is the only division in baseball that features four teams right now with .500 or better records. The Orioles are not one of those four as you probably knew.
While the Orioles won five of their first nine games this season against the East, they are just 3-9 over the last 12 and trail by three runs today versus Toronto through six frames.
The Orioles went just 3-15 against Toronto last year and are just 7-21 over the last 28 against that club.
Jeremy Guthrie allowed six runs today over five innings. That ties for his shortest start of the year and he’s now had three, five-inning outings among his 12 starts.
He had allowed just four earned runs in 22 innings over his past three starts for an ERA of 1.64 in that span before today’s outing. He was replaced by Alfredo Simon after five today as his ERA increased from 3.24 to 3.71.
He gave up two homers in a game this afternoon for the fourth time on the year and has allowed 12 homers on the season.
