With the score tied in the 10th, Robert Andino drew a leadoff walk against former Orioles reliever Latroy Hawkins and took second on Chavez’s sacrifice bunt. Andino moved to third with two outs and scored on another Nick Markakis single.

To review: Chavez made a great running catch in left field to save a run from scoring, singled and scored a run in a situation where others might have been held or thrown out, and laid down a bunt – which has proven to be a challenging task for the Orioles in the past – to put the go-ahead run in scoring position.

Sometimes, it’s the little things that really count.

Plate umpire Angel Campos called a strike on Markakis on a pitch that was ball four to Andino in the 10th. Markakis was upset again, and Campos removed his mask and said something back to the right fielder.

Again, Markakis got his revenge in the best way possible. Redirect that anger.

Don’t worry, Campos will figure out the strike zone sooner or later. Just give him time.

Jim Johnson converted his 16th consecutive save opportunity dating back to last August, stranding the tying run at third base.

The Orioles go 6-4 on this road trip. I’ll repeat that the last time they finished above .500 on a 10-game trip was Sept. 13-23, 2004, when they took two of three at Toronto and Minnesota and split four in Boston.
