Dylan Bundy threw a light bullpen session and remains scheduled to start Sunday afternoon’s series finale against the Rays.
Bundy will be working on three days’ rest after throwing 30 pitches in Wednesday’s rain-shortened start against the Red Sox. The three home runs he surrendered were washed away.
In his last three starts that count, Bundy has allowed 15 earned runs (16 total) and 19 hits in 12 1/3 innings.

Yefry RamÃrez is available out of the bullpen tonight in an emergency, but he’s still expected to start Tuesday night in the Bronx.
Trey Mancini has hit safely in five of his last seven games, including a pair of multi-hit games, but his average remains at .220. This is going to be a process, one that leaves the Orioles sifting for encouraging signs.
“I was looking the other day on the plane, looking at Trey’s year last year, how good it was,” said manager Buck Showalter. “He will be again. It’s just, it’s painful to watch him, how hard he takes it. Sometimes, you can be your own worst enemy. It’s something that Jon (Schoop) kind of got over, kind of got through, and things like that as you go forward, you really reach back for that.
“The problem is, the pitching is so good, a little thing can set you into …That’s why I talk about shortening the bad periods. Jon and Trey haven’t been able to shorten that, but once it gets going, the ball looks big and everything slows down.”
Showalter and executive vice president Dan Duquette sat on top of the visiting dugout and participated in the annual “State of the Orioles” gathering with season-plan holders.
Duquette informed fans that the club is going “full-force into a rebuild,” relaying what he told the media following the Manny Machado trade.
“It’s going to take a while,” he said, “but we’ll get back to a team that we can all be proud of.”
Asked about prospect Cedric Mullins, Duquette said the outfielder is “just about ready for a trial here.” He also conceded that the club likely will have to trim payroll while money is redirected toward the international market, scouting, technology and player development.
“I would expect that the club would take the payroll down next year and the year after and reinvest those resources in younger ballplayers,” Duquette said. “We should be able to do that and get back to competitiveness.”
Duquette said it was an ownership decision to funnel resources from the international scouting side to support major league salaries in an attempt to “extend the competitive window.”
A fan asked whether Duquette and Showalter have been given any indication that they’re going to return next season. Showalter fielded the question and only repeated how he’s just honored to be here and thankful for the chance to be in professional baseball every day and work for the Orioles.
No one asked about trade talks involving Schoop, Adam Jones or anyone else on the roster.
Check Steve Melewski’s blog for more details on the Q&A.
Before heading out to greet fans, Showalter was asked whether he was curious about their reaction to a publicly stated rebuild.
“I actually look at us as kind of being buyers,” Showalter replied. “We’re buying the future, we’re buying … Not ‘buying.’ We’re getting things back that … I look at it the other way around. We’re the one that is obtaining things.”
Showalter expects the roster to undergo more changes after the non-waiver deadline passes on Tuesday.
“I think that’s going to, probably, when the smoke kind of clears, so to speak, first of the month. I’m sure there will be some thought about it,” he said. “I talked to Craig Gentry today, for instance. He’s getting ready to play in Delmarva, I think, on Monday. (Steve) Wilkerson is doing everything. There’s going to be a lot of potential stuff.
“Trying to let those guys get acclimated. Some of them have made promotions post-trade. But I’m sure how that’s all going to go down. One, they’re all off the (40-man) roster, and all except for (Breyvic) Valera have never been in the big leagues before.”
Jimmy Yacabonis lasted only two-thirds of an inning last night at Triple-A Norfolk and was charged with seven runs on two hits and five walks. He threw 41 pitches, 16 for strikes.
“It was a stinker,” Showalter said. “Just reading the reports, didn’t have command of anything. First one this year. He was all over the place. Roger (McDowell) watched it this morning. It was as advertised.”
