Sorry to leave you hanging, but I won’t be passing along quotes today from reliever Kevin Gregg.
I hope that you didn’t plan your entire day around it – like I did. I’m sure you’re smarter.
The Orioles are still waiting to receive the results from his physical. The weather might have played a factor in the delay.
No reason to fret. We’ll probably get the announcement tomorrow morning and it will be business as usual.

No reason to fret. We’ll probably get the announcement tomorrow morning and it will be business as usual.
Gregg agreed to a two-year, $10 million contract with a vesting option for 2013.
I’ve been asked many times whether Alfredo Simon’s legal troubles led to the Gregg signing – well, once Gregg actually signs his contract. The Orioles reportedly made an offer during the winter meetings. They targeted him early in the free-agency process.
The Orioles were hoping to fill out the bullpen and assign Simon to Triple-A Norfolk. They just didn’t anticipate this tragic turn of events.
Still no word on final results of the ballistics test and whether the bullet that killed his cousin on New Year’s Eve came from the gun that Simon turned into police. I’ve noticed that nobody here is asking about it. I guess you’d rather talk baseball.
This story is a long way from being over, no matter the results.
If you’re wondering about former Orioles outfielder Jeff Fiorentino, you can read an interview with him on the Bowie Baysox website.
Fiorentino is a free agent after playing last year in Japan.
