The final days of the 2010 season are fast approaching, and for O’s fans, that means Fan Appreciation Weekend at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
The Orioles have planned a series of special events for fans throughout the final homestand of the season, which will begin with the first of four games against the Detroit Tigers Thursday night and will carry out through the weekend.

The Orioles have planned a series of special events for fans throughout the final homestand of the season, which will begin with the first of four games against the Detroit Tigers Thursday night and will carry out through the weekend.
As part of the celebration, nine O’s fans will be randomly selected to take the field and stand with an Orioles player during the National Anthem during each game of the four-game set against the Tigers this weekend. On Sunday, these nine lucky fans will be selected from the Junior Orioles Dugout Club.
Also during each game of this weekend’s series, fans can visit locations around the ballpark where they can make a donation to the Orioles Charitable Foundation. In return for your donation, you’ll receive a “Shirts Off Our Backs Grab Bag”.
Inside each grab bag, fans will have a chance to win either a baseball autographed by a current or former Oriole, or the opportunity to go on the field following Sunday’s game to receive a “shirt off the back” of one of the current Birds.
The “Shirts Off Our Backs” ceremony will immediately follow the final out of the 1:35 p.m. game on Sunday – And not only will you be able to verify first-hand that it was game-worn, but the jersey will be autographed as well!
Already thinking the O’s have you hooked, and you’ll be making your way to the Yard for the final homestand? Well they’re not finished yet…
Also during each game of the O’s final series, the fan chosen as the “Fan of the Game” on the O’s video board before the bottom of the fifth inning will receive an “Ultimate Orioles Prize Pack”, which includes a pair of 2011 Opening Day tickets, an Orioles batting practice visit, autographed memorabilia, and other O’s giveaway items.
And if you want to make sure you take home some great O’s items this weekend, don’t miss the OriolesREACH silent auction to be held during each game of the series on the main concourse at Gate D. You’ll be able to place bids from the time gates open until 8:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
If you’re planning to head to Oriole Park during one of the first three games of the series (Thursday through Saturday), look out for your chance to be randomly selected to go on the field in the middle of the fifth inning and “Steal Second Base”. Fans chosen for this promotion will run from the warning track by the bullpen to second base, grab the bag and bring it back to the warning track. For your efforts, you’ll receive an Orioles jersey and a game-used base!
And finally, in honor of the final game of the 2010 season, the Orioles encourage all Junior Orioles Dugout Club Members to wear either a Halloween costume or their favorite orange and black outfit for Sunday’s game for a chance to be randomly selected to win prizes throughout the day. And Moms and Dads, don’t forget to bring along a Trick-O-Treat bag, so your young O’s fan can collect goodies and candy at stations set up throughout the ballpark.
So there you have it – A little bit of something for everyone, I think, and plenty to entice you to come out to the Yard to support the Orioles for their final homestand of the season. This weekend is, after all, your last chance to catch the Birds until Spring Training 2011, so we’ll see you at the Yard starting Thursday!
