All season long, fans had the chance to win $50,000 instantly by playing Maryland Lottery Home Run Riches Scratch-Offs. Fans were also able to enter their non-winning tickets for a chance to be selected as the Maryland Lottery Contestant of the Game, which awarded $500 for being selected and an additional $500 for every Orioles home run hit during that game.
With the Orioles belting 188 home runs during the 2018 season, Contestants of the Game were awarded $176,000 in total prizes!
Seven times during the 2018 season, the Orioles hit four home runs in a game, including a 9-6 win on August 5 in which Contestant of the Game – John Twigg of Ellicott City – won $2,500. Trey Mancini led the team with 24 home runs, good for $12,000 awarded to Contestants of the Game.
