Gausman was in line for his first big league win tonight until the Red Sox tied the game 4-4 in the top of the seventh. He gave up two runs and six hits over 5 1/3 innings.
Normally when a player is optioned to the minors, he cannot return to the active roster for 10 days unless he replaces an injured player, but the O’s possibly could get Gausman back sooner. A player could return to replace another player that goes on the paternity list. O’s pitcher Miguel Gonzalez could soon leave the team and be placed on that list to be with his wife for the birth of their daughter any day now.
